Question:
I have the equalizer sway trailer hitch setup rated at 1000 LB. My trail TW is 1130 per manufacturer. Should I upgrade to 1200 LB and if so will buying the replacement bars do the trick? I am pulling with a 2013 Ram 1500 4x4 with a 6inch suspension lift. I also added Airlift 5000 bags in the rear to support the added weight as needed.

Yes, you are correct in that you will need to upgrade your spring bars if you have exceeded the tongue weight capacity of your weight distribution system. However, the Replacement 1,000 Lb. Spring Bars for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems part # EQ90-01-1099 are 1-3/8" wide and the the Replacement 1,200 Lb. Spring Bars for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems are 1-1/2" wide.
Therefore in order to upgrade the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control part # EQ37100ET to a system capable of handling up to 1,200 lbs. of tongue weight you will want to replace both the head and spring bars using the Replacement Head for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems part # EQ90-02-1200 and the Replacement Spring Bars for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems part # EQ90-01-1299.
In addition to head and spring bar replacement, if your Equal-i-zer hitch was made in the last two years then you will also need to replace the shank using the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank part # EQ90-02-4100.
