How far back do I mount the spare tire rack on the boat trailer tongue

Essentially, you can install a spare tire carrier anywhere it will fit. I recommend placing it on the tongue as far back from the coupler as possible without interfering with anything. This will push its weight as far back as possible on the trailer.

I've linked our selection of frame mounted spare tire carriers for trailer frames like the CE Smith # CE27310G. This one is for frames up to 3-1/2 by 4 inches and will fit rims that have a 4 on 4, 5 on 4-1/2, and 5 on 4-3/4 bolt pattern.
