Troubleshooting Uneven Tire Wear On Front Axle Of 2014 30 Foot Windjammer Trailer
Updated 05/22/2017 | Published 05/20/2017 >
Question:
We have a 2014 30foot Windjammer TT. After several short trips, our dealer noticed outside tire wear. FR replaced the 2 torsion axles for us. But 2 years later there is considerable outside wear on both tires on the front axle. Any idea whats going on?

Often when the outside edges of a tire are showing wear it is because the tires are under-inflated or there is a suspension issue. Since you have had the torsion axles replaced, it seems there is a tire pressure issue or a load issue where the load shifting or lack of weight is causing that outside wear.
If there is not enough weight over that axle, the camber of the wheels will angle in versus being vertically straight. Adding weight over just that axle may help the axle to more fully engage and keep the wheels from outside tire wear.
