Question:

I have a 2002 Chevy Silverado Truck with factory installed 2inch receiver hitch. After tilting away The C18084 Rack with bikes on it, will the tailgate have enough clearance to open and not interfere with the rack? Thank you!

The Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack, # C18085, is designed to tilt away from the vehicle to gain access to the rear cargo area. The rack usually will clear the rear tailgate that swing upward on SUVs. However, on the rear of pickup, the tailgate may not clear the bikes since the tailgate is folding down toward the rack.

I recommend the RockyMounts BackStage 2 bike Platform Rack, # RKY10002. This bike rack is both a tilting and swinging bike rack. The RockyMounts BackStage will allow you to fully open the tailgate of a truck when the rack is fully swung away from the rear of the truck.
