Question:
I need to wire my prodigy brake controller and I previously owned a 2005 Denali which had the plug and go with the special wire from tekonsha. Now I am going to have to splice into the harness and i want to know if that is all. In the video with the 2011 silverado the were a few wires under the hood as well. Are these neccessary on the yukon?

Yes, you will need to connect two wires under the hood of your 2011 GMC Yukon XL to wire a brake controller to your vehicles brake controller circuitry. To attach those wires to your vehicle you will need a Zinc Plated Hex Flange Nut - M6, part # 185916, and a Zinc Plated Hex Flange Nut, part # 185917.
I attached an FAQ article on how this is done below for you to check out, as well as the video that you watched of the brake controller being installed on a 2011 Chevy Silverado that you referred to.
You will need to run the four wires from your Prodigy Brake Controller to the four wires that are currently under your dash, and then you will be good to go.
The # 3015-P would not be necessary for you to connect to your vehicle, as it is designed to be used on vehicles that have a port under the dash for connecting a brake controller to.
