Can Battery Charger 20011 and a Solar Panel Provide a Maintenance Charge to a Polaris SXS Battery

I have hooked this charger up to a solar panel that provides 1.5 amps of 12 volt power. Is this enough amps to keep a maintainance charge on a small 12 volt battery in a Polaris SXS?

The solar panel will keep the battery from draining while sitting but if power is drawn from the battery the solar panel and charger will not be able to charge up the battery. The charger # 20011 is designed for small 5 amp hour batteries in breakaway systems. A charger such as # 331-BCDC1240D is better suited for use with a solar panel.

While you can add a second battery to power lights, this is going to require a second, 12 volt auxiliary battery; this is the same concept you were thinking of but a breakaway system battery isn't going to have the power or amp hours needed for…

Essentially there isn't a difference but one part number is how you order it from Hopkins if it's in bulk (like we do) or if you are ordering it independently. So if you order the #20011 you'd get the same thing as Hopkins 20007.
