Will Bikes Loaded on Swagman Bumper Mount Bike Rack Move Enough to Make Contact with Trailer

Question:

Shopping for a bumper mount bike rack. Almost ready to buy the Swagman 2 bike mount. Watching the install video the tech did mention a contact point between the trailer and bike handle bars. With all the violent forces on the back of a trailer wont this damage both the trailer and bike over time?

Every trailer with the Swagman rack # S80605 is going to be a little different so it may or may not be a concern on your trailer. To help prevent a bike or the trailer from getting damaged you would want to make sure everything is tied down as snug as it can be. Other option is to use the 4-bike model, # S80600, and place the bikes in the second and third locations.

Or another option is # S64663 which comes with a bumper mounted hitch. On it the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the wheel hoops is 8 inches and the rack will prevent the bikes themselves from leaning in towards the trailer.
