Question:
Your videos on installing a electronic brake controler on a 2006 ford ranger are great. But I have a 2007 4 cylinder and there are several wires on my brake light switch they have little if any slack to connect the red controller wire plus there is a small yellow capsule. There must be a better way than tearing out all of these wires and trying to locate the one that goes hot with brake application? Thanks

Sometimes, finding and/or connecting to the correct stop light wire on the brake switch can be difficult. There are other places where you may be able to tap into in order to get the correct wire. If your 2007 Ford Ranger has a third brake light on the cab that only comes on when the brake pedal is pushed, then you can tap into that wiring.
If your brake light signals are separate from the running lights and turn signals, you could tap into the wiring behind the taillight. The best place, though, is still going to be at the brake switch. If using a quick splice, like # SWC502905-1, there will not be much slack needed. I have included a link to a video demonstration of a quick splice for reference. Using a circuit tester like the # PTW2993, you will only need to probe the wires to find the correct one.
