No, you should not have to have a charge wire to the battery on your 2016 Jeep Cherokee when using the SMI Air Force One, # SM99243. The braking system primarily uses the air brake system on the RV. You could certainly still run a charge line to the vehicle battery if you wanted to though.
Depending on what lighting system you are using on the Jeep you could potentially need relay # RM-88400. Basically, it prevents the towed vehicle's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the RV when applying the brakes during a turn.
