For Rhino-Rack Roof Rack #RRRVP27, I would like to know if it mounts directly to or on top of the factory installed side rails or not. The pictures lead me to believe it may be directly on the roof with brackets extending into the doorwells. I was led to this item because if its price, but there is not as much info on this as your other products. VEHICLE: 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee with E package factory installed chrome side rails, but no crossbars LOOKING TO PURCHASE: Roof rack/Crossbars and a roof basket med capacity.

The Rhino-Rack RVP Roof Rack # RRRVP27 mounts directly to the E Group metal roof rails of your 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I attached a picture that I took from the install instructions that shows this.
The Yakima cargo basket part # Y07070 would then fit these bars well.
