Thanks for your help with your answer to my first question about the control with my 2014 ml 350 , you did not say anything about using a wireless controller instead of using the p 2 controller ? and using a pig tail to connect to the wiring pug already under the dash ? I thing this is done if you live in Canada ? thats what I heard? I think its a jumper pug connect to your P2 ?? and that put power to the trailer brake ? can you check this out ? and also about the LED light , I think needs a special resistor to allow these leds to work ? thank you for your time and getting back to me your help will lead me in the right direction

The Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller # C51180 is a great option for your 2014 Mercedes-Benz M-Class so long as the vehicle has a working 7-way trailer socket. The Echo avoids the need to hardwire the controller into the vehicle. It also offers the ability to easily transfer it between vehicles.

Your ML-350 does not have an under-dash brake controller connection port like those found on many tow vehicles so your options are to hardwire a controller like the P2 or to use the Curt Echo.

The brake controller will not interfere with your trailer's LED lighting since it has no connection to it. Sometimes you will need to add load resistors like # DI34ZR when using LED type trailer lights. These help in cases where the wiring harness does not recognize the low-power-demand of LED lights. This has nothing to do with your brake controller, however.
