Question:
Hello, I a looking for a brake controller unit for my 2005 Dodge Ram and I am looking at the Tekonsha Primus IQ but I do not know if that will work with my truck. Also, if it does work with my truck, what adapter do I need for it? If someone could email me back with some answers I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. the universal # ETBC7 kit can be used to install an electrical plug and wire into brake controller # TK90160

The Tekonsha Primus IQ # TK90160 can be installed in a 2005 Dodge Ram by using the Tekonsha plug-in wire adapter for the Dodge Ram # 3020-P.
The Primus IQ is designed for use with a 7-way electrical TRAILER plug. If your Dodge only has a flat 4-way plug installed you can still use the Primus IQ, but must install the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat # ETBC7.
If your vehicle does not have a 7-way or 4-way, you will need to install a vehicle wiring harness for a 4-way flat trailer connector. I would use a Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C55504. This harness is designed to be installed with out any cutting or splicing of factory wiring. Once the 4-way harness is installed, you can install the universal # ETBC7 kit and wire to use brake controller # TK90160
I included a help article on wiring brake controllers in Dodge Ram Trucks to 2012 and a installation video on the Primus IQ for Dodge Ram Trucks
