Replacement Converter for PD9245C that is Lithium Battery Compatible

Updated 11/03/2025 | Published 10/24/2025

Question:

Hi, I’m looking at changing my RV house batteries from OEM to LifePO4. From what I’m reading it’s changing the charger PD9245C to a PD9345 or PD9145ALV. It’s a 2016 Winnebago View. My two questions are which model is best? Secondly, do I need to look into the alternator charger or make any mods there? Thanks for your time. Jay

Hey Jay, the correct replacement converter to replace what you have now that is compatible with LifePO4 batteries would be the part # PD69RR that you referenced. Progressive Dynamics likes to change their part numbers a lot and create revisions of their converters but our # PD69RR which is the same as the PD9345 is the current model that matches your amperage and battery type.

Your vehicle alternator wouldn't be charging the house battery so you shouldn't need to change anything there.

One more question about this unit. Does it integrate with a dc to dc charger or would I have to run a completely different arrangement? Since the stop dc will take a solar panel I would like to plan it for future use. Thanks!

@Jay You can run a DC to DC charger to your battery as well as charge the battery with the above mentioned converter. That's one of the great things about DC power is that you can connect more than one power source without issue.
