Question:

I have a trailer with tandem dexter 6K axles and drum brakes. Is there a way to convert to from grease to oil on these drums? The seal ID is 2.250, the seal OD is 3.375, and the dust cap ID of the drum is 2.437inch 2.44. I have done this on other trailers with great results but none with these drums. If I do convert to from grease to oil, will I need a special seal or is the regular grease seal ok?

In order to be able to change your hubs from using grease to an oil bath you need a couple items.

For the hubs you said have an inner diameter of 2.44 I recommend the Kodiak XL ProLube Oil Bath Hub Body and Cap, part # XLPROLUBE2440. This has the hub body that fits in your hub and a cap with threads.

You will also need the Unitized Oil Seal, part # 10-63 for your hubs. This is a dual action seal. The inner part of the seal stays fixed in place on the spindle and the outer part turns with the hub.
