Question:
Hi, this might be a tricky one, but Im having a tough time determining the right grease cap for our 1998 Scamp 16foot Deluxe. I believe its RG04-040, but wanted to pass by you guys first. Im pretty sure the 1998 Scamp 16foot has a Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 3,500-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 10inch Diameter - 5 on 4-1/2, which would take the above grease cap. What do you think?

Expert Reply:
The grease cap # RG04-040 that you linked has an outer diameter of 1.99 inches and is for E-Z Lube Axles. You'll need to measure the inner diameter of your trailer hub's bore to find which is the exact replacement you need. This needs to be as exact as possible so the best way to measure is with a digital caliper like # PTW80157.
If you find your hub bore to have a 2 inch inner diameter, then the # RG04-040 grease cap will fit well for you.
If you find the hub bore to have a different inner diameter, I've provided a link to our grease cap selection.
