Question:

I am wondering if I can mount this to the back of my travel trailer. I am planning on using this for a cargo carrier to hold my 140lb generator and a table and some chairs. Will this work with the frame on the jayco? Also my trailer has a covered floor. Thanks

Good news! In my research I found that your 2017 Jayco X23F was built on a Norco NextGen frame with integrated A-frame that has an I-beam construction.

This means that the adjustable Curt Trailer Hitch # 13703, you were looking at will fit, as long as your frame spread is between 22-72 inches. You will want to remove the cover from below your trailer to measure to be sure. To install the trailer hitch you will also need to modify this lower panel, typically these panels are screwed, nailed, or stapled down.

It's important to note that per Curt's warranty all non-trailer loads like cargo carriers must be supported with a stabilization strap like # 18050.

For a great travel trailer approved cargo carrier, I recommend the Stromberg-Carlson # CC-100. Due to the weight capacity of the Curt hitch you will be limited to 350lbs of tongue weight even though the cargo carrier is rated for more. This will still be a great choice for your 140lb generator and table and chairs.
