Tire Recommendation to Replace a P195/75R14 on a Utility Trailer

Question:

Hi, I have a 4 by 6 utility trailer that I dont travel great distances with nor a lot of weight. It has P195/75R14 tires which are fairly old. Can I put other tires such as a 5.30-12 Trailer Tire Assembly or a ST175/80 D13? I dont have a ton of experience I know the 12, 13 or 14 are the circumference not sure what the 195 refers to or the 75/80. Thanks in advance

For a trailer tire you have to go with ST rated tires. The tires you have currently are for passenger vehicles and that is what the P in front of the size means. I would strongly recommend you upgrade your tires as soon as possible.

The closest size we offer that would fit your current rim is the # TR20514 which is a ST205/75R14 size. Your current tire size indicates that you have a 14 inch rim. That's what the R14 means.

The P means it's a car tire. 195 is the section width of the tire in mm. /75 is the percentage of the width that is the sidewall height (75%). R means it's a radial and 14 means the diameter rim it fits.
