Question:
I need to raise my van up to a foot at either the front or back, or one side or the other, at campgrounds. The van is a 3/4 ton vehicle. Can a pair of these be used to raise the van by as much as a foot or more at ends OR a side? Sleeping in the vans bed is not comfortable when parked in sloped campground parking spots. Thanks.

Expert Reply:
Scissor jacks such as # JSC-30-IND are not meant to lift up vehicle or trailer so I do not recommend them for this application.
What I recommend is to use leveling blocks such as # CAM44521 for a 10-pack. You can drive right up onto these blocks though it may be difficult to get it up to a foot tall without using a bunch of them stacked like a pyramid.
Another option is to use a bottle jack such as # ALL640405 to lift the vehicle and then use the blocks or jack stands to hold the vehicle. A jack should not be used to hold the load indefinitely.
