Trailer Hub Seal for 2.130 Inch Spindle Diameter and 3.371 Inch Diameter Hub Opening

Updated 06/17/2016 | Published 06/16/2016

Question:

I just bought a used 2008, 34 ft. Bison trailer and need to know what Wheel Bearing Seal size to get. The axle shaft Dia. at the seal surface is 2.130 in. but the seal in the hub is a TCS PO2860 TB2.250 3.371. The drum size is 12dia X 2 in. with 8, 1/2 in. studs. Can you tell me what size and part number Grease seal I should order. Thank You

It sounds like the seal you have has an inner diameter of 2.25 inches and outer diameter of 3.371 inches. For a pair of seals this size we have # RG06-070. This is a set of two 10-36 double lip seals.

We also have set # RG06-090 which has an inner diameter of 2.125 and outer diameter of 3.376 inches. the tighter fit around the spindle means you are less likely to lose any grease. The outer diameter of both sets means they will be a nice, tight fit in the hub. The inner diameter of set # RG06-090 is closer to what you measured on your spindle and will also fit the hub. I suspect that these are the seals you need especially if you have had issues with grease leaking out in the past.
