Trailer Tires to Replace F65-14 Tires on a Boat Trailer

Updated 05/16/2016 | Published 05/13/2016

Question:

I have a boat Trailer that has F65 x 14c tires. I know its an odd ball size. Can I use a smaller 13r for this boat and a similar sized tire or is there a more standard size 14r tire that will fit. The wheel wells of the trailer do not have much extra room.

The F65-14 is an old size designation that isn't really used anymore. The replacement for the F65-14ST tire you mentioned would be ST205/65-14, which, like you said, is kind of an oddball size.

The closest match we carry is ST205/75-14. The tire you currently have is 24.6 inches in diameter, and 7.4-inch section width. The ST205/75-14 is 26.3 inches in diameter and 7.8 inches wide which is about a 1/2 inch wider and 1.7 inches larger in diameter. If you have room all around the existing tires for this slightly larger size, then they will work.

We have the 205/75-14 available in a bias-ply or a radial tire. The radial is available in a Load Range D with a 2,040-pound capacity at 65 psi, # AM10235, or a load range C, with a 1,760-pound capacity at 50 psi is part # AM10234.

I've linked you to our help article about trailer tires. The article contains a lot of information that you might find helpful.

For a bias-ply tire, we have a load range C, # AM1ST86, with the same 1,760-pound capacity at 50 psi.
