Fastway Weight Distribution System Recommendation for a Toy Hauler with 890 lb Dry Tongue Weight

Question:
I AM GETTING A 10K GTW 26 FOOT TOY HAULER WITH A TONGUE WEIGHT DRY OF 890 POUNDS. WOULD THE FASTWAY E2 10K GTW/1000# TW WD SYSTEM BE OK FOR THIS TRAILER? OR SHOULD I GO WITH A 12K/1200# WD SYSTEM? THANKS

Expert Reply:
Most likely you are going to need the higher rated system part # FA92-00-1200 since by the time you load up the trailer it will have a tongue weight of higher than 1,000 lbs.
Also, you have to consider the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle as tongue weight too. I would strongly recommend you first determine the loaded tongue weight before buying a WD system. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well.
