Can a Curved Equalizer be Replaced with a Straight Equalizer

Question:

When would you use a curved equalizer instead of a straight? What are the advantages of disadvantages of each?

Different trailer configurations require different equalizers. It all depends on the springs, axle spacing, hanger spacing, height needed and so on. In many cases if you want to change the equalizer to something with different measurements you would also have to replace other components such as the hangers and springs in order to keep everything in the right location for that specific trailer.
