Question:

I notice kurt makes a hitch very similiar to the equal-i-zer. I am in the market for a new hitch too pull a jayco 28rls with a GVW of 8750 and a tongue wt. of 700lbs. Pulling with a 2007 GMC 2500HD Classic Crew Cab Short Box 4-wheel drive Duramax and was wondering just how close in quality the Kurt is to the Equalizer?

The Curt TruTrack weight distribution system # C17500 functions the same way as the Equal-I-Zer brand systems. So far the Curt system has had positive customer reviews and that is to be expected because this design is very simple yet effective.

The advantage that Curt has is price. The Equal-I-zer systems cost more but are made in the US and have a limited lifetime warranty compared to the Curt 10 year warranty.

But if it were me I would try out the Curt because they do make some quality products in other heavy duty categories such as 5th wheel hitches. I have linked a video review of this system for you. I have also included some helpful links on weight distribution and tongue weight.
