Question:
I have a KZ Sportsment Classice 18RBT. Max GVWR will be 3500 lbs. Will this be a good WD/anti-sway system. Towing with a Mitsubishi Outlander GT V6. Do I need to have it professionally installed or is it easy to do at home? If so, what tools are needed. Thanks

The most important thing you need to know when choosing a weight distribution system is the total tongue weight. Total tongue weight is the tongue weight of the fully-loaded trailer in its ready-to-tow status added to the weight of any cargo you place behind the rear axle of the towing vehicle. Based on the information you provided on your trailer, your tongue weight will probably fall between 350 and 525 lbs.
The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution system you came from, part # FA92-00-0450, has a 4,500-lb towing capacity and a maximum 450-lb tongue weight capacity and may ne be able to handle the load. A hitch ball with a 1 inch diameter shank is needed with this system. For a 2 inch hitch ball use part # 63845.
I recommend the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w Sway Control, part # RP66082. This system is designed for a tongue weight between 200 and 600 lbs. The RP66082 also features dual-cam anti-sway control that helps stop sway before it starts. The cams lock in position and hold the trailer steady. Since the hitch balls that work with this system require a 1-1/4 inch shank I recommend part # A-90 for a 2 inch hitch ball and part # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch ball.
If you are mechanically inclined you should have no problem at all installing this system. You will need a torque wrench to complete the installation.
I have attached a link to a helpful article that explains weight distribution and sway control you can check out.
