Spring Mount Interfering with Fit of Curt Class V Trailer Hitch C15809 on 2006 Dodge Ram

Question:

I purchased hitch 45299 from you more than a year ago and got very sick, could not install. I am now trying to install it and it does not fit my truck. I have a 2006 Dodge 3500 long bed. The hitch will not fit over the spring mount. Any suggestions?

I spoke with my contact at Curt, who tells me that some Ram trucks, even though they were manufactured as pickup trucks were assembled using the spring mounts from the cab and chassis trucks. The Cab and Chassis truck spring mount would extend below the bottom of the frame. Please take a look at the diagram I've provided showing what the spring mount SHOULD look like.

If your spring mount extends below the frame, please let me know.
