You likely have an 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern which is normally found on 5,200 pound axles to 10,000 pound axles. The majority of axles with this bolt pattern are 7,000 pound axles. If you could pull off a hub and tell me the numbers stamped on the sides of the inner and outer bearings that can help narrow it down.
To further narrow it down if you could tell me the diameter of the axle and inner diameter and width of the drum, if equipped, that will help a lot.
The second most common axle capacity with a 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern is a 3-Way tie with 5.2K, 6K, and 8K (there is some overlap; some hubs fit more than 1 capacity).
10K, 9K, and 7.2K axles make up the remainder but Hayes did not mass produce 9K or 7.2K axles. The bearing numbers would definitely narrow the field.
