Should 1 or 2 sets of Tire Chains Be Used On Ford F-350 with 35x12.5x18 Tires
Question:
I have a Ford F-350 4x4 running 35x12.5x18 tires on a 6 inch lift. Is one pair of PWE2441S sufficient for traction on unplowed dirt roads? Should I install the one pair on the front or rear tires?

Expert Reply:
Tire chains on both the front and back tires will provide more traction than if only one set of chains are installed on either the front or back tires. Sometimes one set of chains will provide enough traction, but two pairs of chains will provide additional traction. Additionally, wider tires do not always do as well in the snow and ice as skinnier tires, so for your wide tires 2 pairs of chains will likely work better for you.
The Pewag All Square Mud Service Snow Tire Chains # PWE2441S are a great choice for use on unplowed dirt roads, as they are designed for both on and off-road use. I have attached an installation video of these chains for you.
I recommend using the Titan Chain Multi-Arm Rubber Tire Chain Adjuster # TCMA2 with these chains to help maintain tension on the chain while driving.
It is a good idea to check your owner's manual to see if there are any guidelines that should be followed when using tire chains on your Ford F-350.
