Question:
I’m looking for alternatives to regular chains. I have a 2014 Sierra 1500 4x4 with 18 inch wheels, 12.5 wide with 35 in tires. These are oversized tires and my truck has a lift with limited wheel well space. What would you suggest? Thanks

Thanks so much for reaching out to us and including the picture with your tire size 35x12.5x18.
For great tire chains for your size on your lifted 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4, the chains that will have the least bumper clearance requirement for your truck is the pewag All Square Snow Tire Chains with Cam Tighteners for Wide-Base Tires # PWE3231SC. The link size on the pewag All Square chains measure 5.6mm thick. Compare this to the 8.2mm thick of the # PWE2441S (which will also fit your tires). Due to the shortest link size on the # PWE3231SC and the cams on the links that adjust for superior tightening, I recommend these chains for your truck. Per GMC, I recommend only installing these chains on your rear tires.
In order to know for sure if you have enough clearance for the 5.6mm pewag chains, I recommend measuring your internal clearance. This is done by measuring the interior face of the wheel well to the closest component (for example, struts). I went ahead and attached a diagram that shows this measurement.
For even greater ease of installation and tightening of the chains, I recommend the Glacier Multi-Arm Rubber Adjusters - Heavy-Truck Chains # PW103. With the adjusters, you will never have to go through the headache of tightening your chains after each trip.
I went ahead and linked a video to the installation process and to a review video of the adjusters for you to check out.
