Should Weight Distribution Bars Flex When Installed
Updated 12/12/2015 | Published 12/11/2015 >
Question:
I recently purchased the Curt 800 lb weight distribution system. My spring bars bow a little when hooked up. Does that mean that they are not stuff enough or strong enough for my trailer? Will this cause a problem when pulling?

A slight bend in the spring bars of a weight distribution system is normal and just shows that they are doing their job. The bars are made of spring steel which is designed to flex. If they didn't flex the ride quality would be very rough.
Since you have an 800 lb tongue weight system you will need to be sure not to exceed this figure with the loaded tongue weight of your setup.
I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well.
