Question:

Should I order the full size or the mid-size version of the Softride Tailgate Pad for my 2002 Ford F-150 Supercrew Cab? The width of my tailgate, measuring only the tailgate itself, is 51 1/2 inches. Your website recommends the full-size, BUT lists the width of that product as 61 inches and, one of the reviewers mentioned that it was too wide for his 2003 Ford F-150. Sounds like I might need to order the mid-size version - how wide is it?

The mid-size tailgate cover, part # SR26461 sounds like the pad you want because it measures 54 inches wide. You said your tailgate measures 51-1/2 inches so this would fit with just a little extra.

The large tailgate pad, part # SR26457 measures 61 inches wide and unless you want to have quite a lot of excess pad on the sides of your truck the mid-size pad would be the best option for you.
