How to Set Up Weight Distribution System on Vehicle with Auto Leveling Suspension
Updated 09/24/2015 | Published 09/23/2015 >
Question:
I had this hitch installed where I bought my RV. Depsite telling them about it, Im convinced that they did not let the rear suspension fully level on the back of the Suburban before measuring everything out. Now when I hook up the trailer, the rear suspension auto levels itself, which results in the trailer being slightly angles upward. There are already 7 washers being used in the hitch. How do I go about angling the ball slightly lower. I still need to measure it out to be exact, but I can tell it will be a pretty small adjustment. Do I need to lose the washers and go down a whole setting on the hitch? Or is there a way to angle it down just a bit more. Thanks!

I would recommend you just start over totally with setting up the Curt Weight Distribution System part # C17051 on your trailer and 2009 Chevy Suburban. Like you said you will want to set the trailer on the hitch ball by itself first without the WD system attached to let the auto-level do it's thing.
Once settled then you would go about setting up the system. For more information on that check out the install video I attached plus the install instructions link that is attached as well.
