First, I recommend checking the weight capacity of your vehicle's roof as well as the weight capacity of the crossbars on your roof. Most vehicle roofs do not have a very high weight capacity. This information will likely be located in your owner's manual. The weight capacity of a roof rack will vary by manufacturer as well as make and model of vehicle.
I spoke with my contact at SportRack about using the Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs SR5512 for your Hobie Pro Angler. Though most saddle style kayak carriers are designed to match the weight capacity of the roof and crossbars on the vehicle, and these kayak saddles do not carry a weight capacity, my contact at SportRack did not seem very optimistic that these saddles would support the full weight of your kayak.
I spoke with my contact at Rhino-Rack about a carrier for you Pro Angler. He was confident that the Rhino-Rack Nautic Roof Kayak Carrier Rear Loading # RR571 and Side Loading # RR570 will support your kayak. The Rear Loading # RR571 carrier has felt on the rear saddles to assist you in loading your kayak from the rear of your vehicle. The kayak will slide over the rear saddles and the rubber of the front saddles will grip your kayak securely. The Side Loading # RR570 cradles pivot to allow easy loading of the kayak from the side of the vehicle.
To assist in loading your kayak on your roof, a tire step, like the HitchMate TireStep # HE4040, may be helpful to you in reaching the roof of your V70.
