Roof Kayak Carrier Recommendation for a 14 foot Mad River Canoe

Question:

I brought a Thule rack for my F-250 and Im planning to take a 14 ft Mad River adventure canoe on vacation. I also brought a Thule 579XT carrier kit. The kit does not seem to fit the canoe rails that well because of the design of the canoe. If the 579XT is not recommended for carrying the adventure canoe what do you recommended me use to protect the canoe while transporting it.

Sounds like you have a Thule roof rack installed on your 2015 Ford F-250 and are looking for a canoe carrier that will work with your canoe instead of the discontinued 579XT.

I looked up pictures of your canoe and it looks like yours would be better carried right side up. A carrier like the Rhino-Rack Nautic Roof Kayak Carrier # RR570 would be your best option. I attached a review video for you to check out as well.
