Tips for Inserting the Dexter Oil Hub Plug # 46-52

Question:
??best way to push the new soft rubber plug into the Hub hole without damage to the plug ?? they tried using a small rod into the hole in the plug to push it in but poked a hole thru the new plug..Any idea of the proper way to install them and keep the tight fit ???

Rubber is it's softest when it is warm. I would try submerging the plug in hot water to get it as soft as possible. That should help you be able to slide it in. Putting a little bit of oil on the plug would help as well.
