How To Raise a Square Axle Boat Trailer with Drop Axle
Updated 05/16/2019 | Published 05/15/2019 >
Question:
I have a single square axle for my inboard ski boat. The axle is mounted below the springs pic attached. The prop guard scrapes, and getting it in and out of the garage is a real hassle. If I could lift it another 2-3, it would be great. Thank you!

In order to raise your boat trailer you are going to want to swap out the drop axle that you have now for a straight axle as that would then give you the additional clearance that you need. In order to make sure we get you the correct straight axle I would need to know what your axle capacity is, the hub face to hub face measurement, and the spring center to spring center measurement.
For example, the CE Smith Trailer Axle w/ Idler Hubs part # CE33201GA-HUB has a 2,000 lb capacity, 57-1/2" hub face, and 46-1/2" spring center. If you can provide me with the above bits of information I would then be able to confirm the correct straight axle for your boat trailer. This will be the only option we can offer you to get the clearance you need.
