I just installed some bunk boards on my pontoon trailer and there isnt much clearance from the too of the board, about 1-2inch between board and floor braces. Is that too close?

If there is no flex in the bunks with the pontoon boat loaded, you should be fine with the 1/2 inch clearance.
If you are possibly hitting the frame of the trailer when traveling I recommend replacing the bunk brackets with taller ones like part # CE10161GA. This bracket sits on top of the frame of the trailer and are 8 inches tall, and 5 inches wide with 4 mounting holes that are spaced 1-1/2 inches apart center to center. This will give you options to mount the bunks at the height you want. The # CE10161GA is sold individually, so you will need 2 for each end of the bunks.
We also offer 6 inch tall brackets, part # CE26233GA. These brackets are 6 inches tall and 5 inches wide and there are 3 mounting holes spaced 1-1/2 inches apart.
We offer the U-bolts needed to mount the brackets as a separate item For U-bolts that are 3-13/16 inches long you would need part # CE15283GA. For a quantity of 2 you can order part # CE15283GA-2. For 4 U-bolts you can order part # CE15283GA-4.
