Recommendation for a Trailer Winch to Pull a 1952 Chevy Pick Up onto a 22 Foot Car Hauler

Question:

I have a 22 foot car hauler with a wood deck and an 18 steel tube rail. I intend to haul a 1955 series two 1/2 ton chevy pickup. Which winch do you recommend, and where would be the best location to mount it. Thanks

I would recommend a winch with a larger capacity than the Superwinch LT2000 Electric Utility Winch, # 1120210, that you referenced. A winch with a higher capacity is better than a getting one only to find out later that 2,000 pounds is not enough.

I recommend going with the Bulldog winch, # BDW15017. It has a 3,400 pound capacity. You have to take into account the angle of your 22 foot car hauler as that will affect the load capacity.

The best place to mount the winch is in a spot that can more than handle the load you plan to pull, and in a place that allows the cable to be level with the winch while in operation.
