SH On Prodigy Brake Controller But Trailer Brakes Work Fine with Different Tow Vehicle
Published 07/22/2015 >
Question:
I recently bought a new trailer, pulled it with 2008 F250 integrated brake controller and the brakes work fine. When hooked to my RV with a Prodigy controller I get an SH code.

The SH error on the Prodigy series of brake controllers indicates that the controller is sensing a short. Since it worked fine with your truck the likely culprit is a dirty or corroded trailer connector on the RV.
Make sure that the RV side and trailer side connectors are clean and free of corrosion inside where the wires attach and on the pins. Be sure to fix or replace any questionable wires as well.
If this does not solve the problem you can test the brake controller using the help articles I have linked for you.
