Can this be used to take the slop out of a hitch? I have a 2.5inch receiver with a reducer to 2inch and a 2inch trimax 12inch hitch an there is ALOT of play.

The Blue Ox Hitch Receiver Immobilizer # BX88225 works on 2-1/2-inch hitches like yours to reduce motion of the connected item. This device uses two u-bolts that each pull in different directions - one up/down and the other left/right - to steady the connected item.
Whenever additional connections are introduced in a system, such as by using a reducer sleeve like the Curt # 45405, there will always be more potential for random motion.

I flat tow a truck behind my RV. The RV receiver is 2 1/2 inches. I use a sleeve reducer to 2 inches and a 8 inch drop to a Blue Ox towbar. I have tried 3 different variants of stabilizers but the gap between the 2 1/2 to 2 inch is too great for any device i could find and it wont stop the rattle/slop.
