Question:

Yes I have a camper with a 4inch steel bumper that I was thinking about putting the curt # E 100 on the back of. The purpose would be for towing my 17foot aluminum Jon boat with a 40hp motor. It is under the 3500 lbs and the tongue weight is under 300lbs. Would this hitch be rated and approved for this purpose? Towing two trailers is legal in my state. Thank you for any help!!!

The Curt 2-Inch RV Bumper Trailer Hitch Receiver # E-100 has enough capacity for towing a 3500-lb trailer load like your 17-foot jon boat. It will mount to a 4-inch square channel bumper using the included hardware.

You will want to check with your camper manufacturer to verify that your particular camper model has the bumper and frame strength to allow towing a trailer with a GTW of around 3000-3500-lbs. Both the camper's bumper and the frame structure have to be sufficiently strong to handle the trailer load and the camper's maker can tell you that. I suggest you have the camper's VIN number handy when you contact them.

You will also need a ball mount like # C45010 with pin and clip # PC3, and a hitch ball of the size to match your boat trailer's coupler. For a 2-inch ball use # 63845 or for a 1-7/8-inch ball use # 19260. You'll also need a 4-pole wiring harness to connect your boat trailer's lights to the camper's. You can use # 118001 for a harness on your camper's rear.
