Updated 05/28/2015 | Published 05/25/2015

Question:

Installed my c5g 5th wheel to gooseneck this weekend and went on our first trip. It seemed like the truck was occasionally jarring back and forth. I didnt know if this was normal and is there a way to stop it.

Sounds like you are experiencing a bit of chucking while towing with the Convert-A-Ball Adapter part # CAB-C5G. A little bit of chucking is normal with adapters like this and with fifth wheel towing in general.

Severe chucking isn't a common occurrence with this adapter as we have not heard of this issue from the several customers of ours who have tried it. Now if you can see movement on the adapter when the noise is heard then something isn't installed properly or the adapter is overloaded and that would need to be addressed ASAP.

I attached an install video for you to check out as well.

There is an off chance that you have too small of a gooseneck ball too. This adapter is designed to fit 2-5/16 inch balls. Make sure your hitch doesn't have a 2 inch ball.
