Flatbeds with toolboxes and fuel tanks can make hitch setups tricky, but this one’s built for that. The 3-1/2" offset base is designed to clear front-mounted gear so you can keep your storage and still hook up your trailer without interference. The footprint of the base measures 29-1/2" wide by 31-1/2", giving you a solid, stable platform for towing on a flatbed setup.
This hitch is made from aluminum and weighs only 35 lbs, which means lifting it in or out of your bed doesn’t require an extra set of hands. It drops right over your standard 2-5/16" gooseneck ball—no tools or heavy lifting needed. When you’re done towing, you can pull it out just as easily and have a clean, open bed again.
For hauling big trailers, this system packs real strength. It’s rated for 24,000 lbs gross towing weight and 4,500 lbs vertical load limit, so it can take on heavy fifth wheels and toy haulers without sweat. Even with its lightweight design, it’s built tough enough to stand up to demanding towing days.
Different trailers sit at different heights, so this system gives you options. With hitch height adjustments at 15-9/16" and 13-9/16", you can set things up so the trailer rides level and stable. Getting that alignment right helps your rig handle better and reduces stress on your setup while you’re on the road.
No need to climb into the bed or stretch awkwardly to latch things down. The remote latch cable lets you secure or release the connection from beside the truck. It’s quick, clean, and saves time every time you hitch or unhitch.

Hi, everyone, Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our Andersen Ultimate Connection gooseneck to fifth wheel hitch trailer system. Now, this specifically is for a flatbed truck with maybe a toolbox or a fuel transfer tank. So this does sport a nice 3 1/2-inch offset from the front of the truck or the cab, rather, to the tailgate. So I have this lined up, and per the decals on this product, the back is the tailgate. So you, the viewer, are watching this looking at the cab of the vehicle.
So that's how it's gonna be faced. You do get this included remote latch system is what we're calling it. And basically, you're able to use a cable, be on the side of the truck, and now I can manipulate the connection point coming on or off. (metal clanking) So I've got it locked. If I pull it to release the pin inside of there, then I can simply take it off.
Now, as you know, this is a ball connection and this is gonna be on the trailer, camper side, the fifth wheel side, whatever kinda trailer or camper you're using it for. And this is gonna turn that kingpin connection now into a round ball connection. (metal clanking) Now again, that's gonna be nice because now you can mount that to the side and be on the side of the vehicle, not have to worry about trying to reach in, have those pull bars, that kind of stuff. This is adjustable. It's got two height settings, 15 9/16 inches and 13 9/16 inches as well.
Now again, this is for a flatbed. So this would sit flush on the bed. I've got some blocks of wood under it. That way, my center connection point there can rest even on the table. So again, a couple adjustments here.
It's pretty easy to do. There's some bolts in the back, some nuts, those kinda things, and some pins. And you can easily move that around. I will turn this sideways a little bit, just so you kinda get a side view. So as you can see, it's got built-in handles, one on each side. Those have a plastic insert, which I love, because it's just a lot better than gripping the aluminum. This is super lightweight too, 35 pounds, super, super light. You're not gonna have to have a friend or somebody help you install it. You could easily put it in and take it out on your own as needed. Now, zooming in here to the ball, like I said, you've got the ball connection there. And then again, that remote latch system. As you can see right now, the pin is not engaged. But if I push the cable, now you can see that pin moving inside there. So that again is the connection point. (object thumping) And again, you have the multiple heights. 24,000 pounds capacity gross towing, 4,500 pounds capacity vertical load limit, 3 1/2-inch offset. Again, perfect for those flatbeds with a fuel transfer tank or a toolbox. Folks, that's gonna wrap it up for our quick look together. I'm Steven, thanks so much for your time. As always, we'd love to see photos of it installed and hear your input about it. Have a good one.

Just received my anderson goosneck 5th wheel hitch and installed right away. Material is made of superior craftsmanship and will be looking forward to not lifting my heavy husky anymore. 5 star all the way
Super Fast Shipping!
Shipped quick on time packaged good
This was an excellent choice for stable, reliable and ease of use hitch. Very easy to hook up in many directions. Would recommended this hitch.
Simple an easy but product showed up with labels off or coming off
Shipping was super quick and items were exactly what i wanted and ordered
Never wanted 5th wheel because of losing truck bed space with regular hitch. This is great, pulls like a dream, light weight, removes quick for storage-40lbs., 2018 Bighorn 35’ 5th.
Working perfectly with over 500 miles into our first trip with it installed. Incredibly lightweight and well made. So far I’m very happy with it. I’d give the product 4.5 stars for overall build quality and design. I’m disappointed with etrailer delivery though. I ordered from etrailer because delivery was originally scheduled for the upcoming Saturday which was perfect. I even paid a little more buying from them because of this fact rather than use the manufacturer who was actually having a 10% sale. However 2 days after ordering from etrailer the delivery date unexpectedly changed for both parts ordered and was now going to be 4 days later than anticipated. I could have saved 10% to get the same later delivery time from Andersen. This delay caused unnecessary stress and created logistical headaches for me getting it installed. Sure UPS is unreliable, but when I called etrailer to inquire about the delays I didn’t get much of an explanation for this delay. It did finally arrive 4 days late with a damaged exterior box, but luckily the hitch was mostly fine with just a couple scrapes and two of the base foot pads knocked off.
I had reservations about using the Andersen Ultimate fifth wheel hitch, most of the reviews (that I researched) were negative but I decided to try the product for myself. I have a 2016 Titan XD SV (gas) model with a 6.5 truck bed and a 2017 Springdale fifth wheel (253FWRE). I can say without a doubt that the Andersen Ultimate fifth wheel hitch works! I have backed up and jack knifed between 70 and 75 degree angle and had about a foot and a half clearance from my truck cab and fifth wheel. Super easy to install, I did the work myself, the key is to purchase a torque wrench with correct socket and hex key socket. What I believe help make this hitch a success is the offset from hitchball on the Andersen unit (3") and the offset from the gooseneck adapter I believe it is also (3"). Additionally my fifth wheel has a sculpted nose, all of the negative reviews that some say about the Andersen fifth wheel hitch, they fail to mention that they are using an older fifth wheel model that has a flat nose. You may run into issue if you have and older model fifth wheel and a shorter bed than 6.5. Bottom line I have been extremely pleased with my purchase of the Andersen Ultimate fifth wheel hitch and would recommend this product to anyone that wants the easy set up and connection.
The hitch is light weight and installed easily. It looks to be of high quality, however I reserve the 5 stars until after I have actually towed with it.
We've traveled cross country, twice, and over 10,000 miles towing and this has been the best hitch we've had yet. The roads aren't smooth and the 16,000 lb of our fifth wheel has ridden smooth and without chucking/bumping. We have the steel version and very glad we decided to purchase this hitch instead of the typical saddle type 5th wheel hitch we've used before. The captured photo attached is from our rear dash cam while transporting.
Buying and installing the AM3200 filth wheel hitch was one of the best thing I Have done . It has made trailering a lot more comfortable driving , very little bucking when going over bridge expansion joints and bumps in the highways. I have a few problems hooking-up with the type of trailer hitch I
Have on my 5th wheel and I also have air ride on my TV. When hooking up I
Let all the air pressure off my air ride system and off the hitch. Before I disconnect (raise the trailer) I put on a ratchet strap to hold the hitch from dropping down, It sounds like a lot of work but it will have. To do till I come up with a better plan. I would not go back to my other hitch, you have to excuse the pics hard to pick
This is hard to rate. It hits 10/10 in many areas - light weight, easy hitching & unhitching, quiet while towing, good truck cab clearance. But I'm not thrilled with the basic design putting so much force on the bed of the truck, having just a single point of attachment, needing a torque wrench to put it in and out. If it fit my OEM puck system with quick disconnects it would have been better.
Well engineered with strong welds and nice machining. Love the light weight.
Works well on my 2017 GMC 2500 with the 6 foot bed was able to push the camper back 8 inches very satisfied
After receiving the kit i saw another one on the shelf at a local store. I noticed the one on the shelf had a steel ball cup mounted to it. Mine did not have that part. I called andersen and asked if the ball cup was available for purchase seperately. They told me no need to purchase bevause they will ship me one for free! Later on, i towed my trailer to a camp site and upon arrival i could not get the release pin to open to drop the trailer while we stayed in it. I called andersen and described the problem i had, they shipped a whole new block and cable assembly for free!! I am ver pleased with the product and also impressed with the level of customer service!
Yes the product is all that and the bag of chips it says Pulling a Jayco seismic 395. no bed noise, connection feels secure. 3k miles pulled so far. if you have a 5th wheel convert to this asap its lite the trailer drops on to it like a bumper pull. I would recommend and purchase again.
We have the Anderson Hitch installed on our 2017 Ford SuperDuty and pull a Reflection 337RLS. We have traveled over 4,000 miles and have been extremely satisfied. The hitch allows plenty of clearance between 5th wheel, bed, and the truck cab. Hook-up and disconnect has always been easy, even with RV lots that were uneven dirt lots. I use Curt thin rubber sound dampeners (item 16900) and this provides a quiet, tight fit between the rails and hitch. Of course the light weight makes it easy to remove when not towing and less weight when you are towing. A great product for the right truck, trailer combination.
Shipping was fast ordering was easy. Kelly was extremely helpful to get my order placed. Super easy to install, picked up a 5th wheel and drove 550 miles with no issues.
Beautiful Hitch, easy set up. The Ball and Pin adapter was securely attached to the frame(good job Andersen), but the Ultimate Connection Adapter was not, hence it was bouncing around inside the box and everyone knows UPS is rough on customers packages. Adapter could easily have been secured to the hitch frame!! Overall, love the quality. Will not get to use the hitch for several more day's, we will be trading in our current travel trailer for a 5th wheel at the dealership.
Hitch is light for removal purposes however there are some down sides.
Having to raise camper to almost full extension to hook and unhook is a drawback. There is still plenty of jerking motion while pulling our 29' fifth wheel camper with our 2020 GMC DENALI 2500 Diesel.
I use the product to tow a 40 foot fifth wheel trailer. I really like how light the unit is when I want to remove the hitch and get my PU bed back. I am also happy with the way the hitch works and how easy it is to hook up. I also have a short bed truck, but the hitch allows for some pretty tight turns, though you have to be aware of the potential to hit the cab with you trailer.
My Andersen Ultimate 5th Wheel Hitch Toolbox Version is awesome as advertised. The toolbox version accommodates my auxiliary fuel tank. No effort at all to install the hitch and take it out. I hang it on the wall in the shop when not towing. We've towed the 5th wheel over 1500 miles in the last month and I have no complaints.
A great decision to go with Andersen. Couldn't be happier!
Great hitch, this is my second Anderson. The only problem I have is my flatbed is a little tall and has my trailer high in the front. Even with the ball in the lowest position it’s still about 6” high. I might have to go to something different on the trailer.
