Question:
I have a 2010 Ford 150 truck with towing package. I can not get the 2 horse trailer chains to attach to the hitch. J hooks wont go on the loop under the tail gate. Chains are too short. If part # C82932 will sustain 16,500 lbs, it will work I think. Do I clip the J hook with spring onto the Hidden Hitch? What are the measurements on that part? Metal is 1 inch and hole is 2 inch x 1. Am I right that the screw locking mechanism should seat below the hitch loop?

I went out to the warehouse and pulled safety chain quick link # 49135 to measure for you. With the nut fully opened the opening is just over 5/8 an inch (0.625 inches). If you can fit the opening over your current safety chains, they should work well as these have a 16.5k capacity each.
A better solution would be to replace your current safety chains with something like the part # 49150 as this is a 44-inch safety chain kit with a 16k capacity.
Or for a 35-inch chain part # 1483-535-04.
