Hi I just watched the video for adding the solenoid but it does not explain how to wire it? I have a 4 prong connector now. Thanks

The Titan Replacement Reverse Lockout Solenoid you mentioned is extremely easy to wire. The solenoid has two wires exiting it. One wire grounds to the trailer tongue, the other would connect to the reverse light circuit on the tow vehicle. Once wired, the solenoid will close when the tow vehicle is shifted into reverse, preventing the trailer brakes from applying when the trailer is backed.

Since it sounds like both your vehicle and trailer have a 4-pole connector, you'll need to install a 5-pole using the Hopkins # HM47890 kit. On the vehicle, cut off the 4-pole, and wire up the vehicle side 5-pole. Each of the wires on the 5-way has a colored stripe on it, and would wire to the corresponding wire color on the wiring from the 4-pole you removed. The blue wire would tap into the reverse lamp circuit on the tow vehicle.

On the trailer, remove the 4-pole and wire in the 5-pole. Wire as described above, with the blue wire connected to one of the wires from the solenoid.

The solenoid is compatible with Titan Model 6, Model 60, Aero 7500, and newer Model 10 and Model 20 actuators. For 2000 and older Model 10 actuators, an adapter ( # T4750200 - sold separately) may be necessary for installation. The solenoid also fits Dico Models 10, 20 and 60 actuators.

To protect the solenoid, a shield is recommended. For a model 10 or 20 actuator, use part # T4836100183 or # T4835800183 for a model 60.
