Question:
You may have already addressed this issue but I just want to get it right before making more changes to my boat trailer. I have a Titan 60zx7000 coupler. Can I prevent the surge brakes from engaging by putting in a spacer or a locking pin on the master cylinder to do the same as the reverse solenoid? I currently have only a 4 prong connector to my vehicle, do I need a 5 or more prong. It seems expensive for the few times I back up the trailer and it has been suggested by the local marina that by putting a wedge in the coupler would do the same thing. I want to be safe first and foremost and also not do any damage to the trailer ie. the centrifugal brakes. Thx for your assistance

I really wish there was a cheap and easy way to lock out a Titan model 60 actuator but the only way would be with an electric lock out like the part # T4748800. This threads onto the back of your current actuator and once ran to the reverse light circuit it will allow your trailer to backup without locking up the brakes.
You will need to replace your current 4-way with a 5-way like part # HM47910. And then to convert the 4-way on your tow vehicle you'd need the adapter part # 20036 and you'd be set.
