Trailer Hitch that Fits Full Size 19 Inch Spare on a 2011 Toyota Highlander for Use with Bike Rack

Question:

Im looking for a hitch for my 2011 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited with 19inch spare tire installed in the rear bottom of the car. I need a hitch for my bike carrier for 4 bikes. Some articles say that there is no hitch if I want to keep the 19inch full-size spare tire. Please advise if there is any way to install a hitch.

Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 75726 will allow you to keep the full size spare under the vehicle. the only issue is that when raising and lowering the spare you will need to angle it in since it will not be able to go straight down or up. I have linked a video showing installation for you.

There is a special note in the instructions which I have linked for you. The note states that when storing the spare, it is necessary to lift up on the rear edge of the tire to clear the hitch. In other words you will need to get just the right angle to get the spare back up in position, but it all does fit together.
