Adjusting Weight Distribution System Used on 2014 Yukon with Auto-Leveling Suspension
Updated 04/15/2015 | Published 04/14/2015 >
Question:
I have a 24foot enclosed trailer that Im towing with a 2014 Yukon Denali the truck has an auto level system. No matter what I set the ball height at the system brings the truck up level, which brings up the height of the front of the trailer so it is no longer level. I have a drawtite setup with no anti sway bar. I used to tow with a Tahoe with no sway at all up to 80 MPH. What is the proper way to set this up with the load bars so the trailer sits level?

According to our contact at Draw-Tite the best way to use a weight distribution system with an automatic leveling system is to first start your Yukon and put a slight load on the rear of the truck to let the air suspension begin to level the vehicle.
Then you will want to measure the distance from the ground to the top of the front wheel wells.
Next you will want to hitch up your trailer and set up your weight distribution system per the instructions.
Finally, you will want measure the height of the front wheel well above the ground again. After you set up your trailer like this once, you will be able to just hitch up and go from there on out.
As long as that distance has gone down any where from a quarter of an inch to roughly a half an inch, you should be properly set up for hauling that trailer.
