First, hitch extender # HE06 is not a hitch, just an extension. It would fit in a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver if your 2006 Cadillac SRX already had one. It is designed to provide an additional 7 inches of clearance from the center of the hitch pin hole.
For a 2 inch trailer hitch for your SRX the most popular option is # C13050. I have linked a video showing how it installs.
With the hitch installed the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole back to clear the rear bumper will be up to 1-1/4 inches. Because of this short distance you would not need an extender. This is because the bike rack, # HR8500, measures 9-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest edge of the rack. I have linked a video review of the bike rack for you.
I also do not recommend the use of an extender because it reduces the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50 percent and puts extra stress on the hitch.
If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) on the bike rack I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wife's bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my son's bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
