Recommended Trailer Hitch And Wiring For 2014 Honda Civic SI Sedan

Published 01/14/2015

Question:

Will the C11391 hitch fit a 2014 Civic Si sedan. I see conflicting comments online whether it will fit the Si. Can you tell me all hitch models you offer that fit the 2014 Si?

We have one hitch that is designed to fit a 2014 Honda Civic SI Sedan.

It is the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # C11391. This is a Class l hitch and has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening. This has been verified as a fit for your Civic. A note form Curt states that all non-trailer loads - bike racks, cargo carriers and so forth - should be supported with stabilizing straps like part # 18050. Failure to properly support these loads will void your hitch warranty.

If you are planning on towing I recommend the Curt Drawbar, part # C45521. This receiver has a 2-5/8 inch rise or a 3-1/4 inch drop. The hitch pin and clip like part # F-4 are sold separately.

For a 1-7/8 inch hitch ball I recommend part # A-80 and for a 2 inch hitch ball I recommend part # A-82.

If you need trailer wiring I recommend the Curt Custom Wiring Harness, part # C56011. Simply plug in the connectors to the connection points in the rear cargo area and attach the ground to a clean bare metal surface and you will have a 4-way trailer connector at the rear of your Civic. I have attached a link to an installation video for this harness on a 2014 Accord you can take a look at. The vehicle is not the same as yours but the installation may be similar.

When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.

I have attached a couple of links to some of the products that will work with the hitch on your Civic. If there is a specific item you have any questions about just let me know and I can make some recommendations that will work for you.
