I called my contact at Dexter and spoke with him at length about this. Mobile home axles are traditionally weld-on brake assembles that cannot be replaced. If they are actually bolt-on both the 6K and 7K weight capacities will work.
Part # 23-105 and part # 23-106 are left and right side 6K capacity brake assemblies. Part # 23-180 and part # 23-181 are left and right side 7K capacity brake assemblies. They have the same mounting pattern and size. The 5-bolt brake assembly pattern is a standard pattern so if your brake assemblies are 12 inch by 2 inch and true 5-bolt bolt-on, then either of these sets will work.
There are 2 differences between the 6K and 7K brake assembly sets. The 7K sets use stronger magnets and semi-metallic shoes instead of composite material. This gives them a bit more stopping power to handle the extra load.
Mobile homes are transported with 6K axles, but you can use the 7K assemblies with no problem. In fact I would recommend the 7K for the added braking ability. Better to have too much braking ability than too little.
